I don't see why not but make sure you have Windows 8.1 Pro and not Windows 8.1 Standard. Also be aware that for Hyper-V your OS type needs to be 64-bit.

I have windows 8.1 embedded industry pro 64bit.

I actually had installed wp8 SDK but as I have pentium dual core I am not able to run wp8 emulator.
I am not sure if it might work. I will upgrade my pc soon then let you know.

No, but it's an emulator so you aren't going to be using it as your daily driver!!!

True, but not all the features that could be integrated with will work properly in the emulator.

What Hyper-V error is it?

Is it the same one as everyone else, the one about Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit?

These are 64 bit Windows 8.1. cmd > systeminfo shows that CPU can run hyper-v. The only solution to this I think is reinstalling windows

That might be your only option, try refreshing Windows if you haven't already then try the emulator. If that doesn't work then try the reinstall option.

Ok, do you have Windows 8.1 64-bit or Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit, it should tell you in the system properties?

I ask this because the Hyper-V software requires Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit as Hyper-V is a component of that version.

If you read back through the posts instead of skimming them, then you'll see that it is turned on as they were using the WP8 emulator image prior to this which requires Hyper-V as well!!!
