Windows Phone software recovery tool doesn't work

Hey!
I'm trying to roll my 1020 back to 8.1, but the windows phone recovery tool doesn't work. After it detects my phone, it just loads forever. What can i do? My phone is also stuck in build 10166, updating doesn't work and I've tried hard resetting it couple of times.

I was in exactly the same situation with pc version months ago, windows 10 truly is universal lol

Make sure you're using the Windows Phone Recovery Tool 2.1.2 exactly.

If WPRT doesn't work, you should try the Lumia Software Recovery Tool as it works better with Nokia branded phones.
