Is the download option from Windows Phone Store (web) gone now?

Microsoft gave a design revamp to the Windows Phone Store on the web, integrating everthing Windows, and the option to download the app file from the web store isnt available anymore.
Is there any way to download the app file now, from the web?

This thread has been moved to appropriate forum...

It would appear this option is gone for now. It looks like prepping for anticipated Universal Apps.

There is another thread on this topic over here: http://forums.windowscentral.com/mi...-app-via-pc-phone-push-notification-down.html In that thread, thepolicecall911fordetails reprints a conversation he had with Msft Customer Care on the subject.

It seems Microsoft has redesigned WindowsPhone.com and integrated it into Microsoft.com. In the process, Microsoft seemed to have removed these two useful functions which were available in WindowsPhone.com.

Firstly, I can no longer purchase mobile-only apps with a web browser on PCs. For example, search for "Emerland" which is a mobile-only game. Previously you can "Buy" or "Install" the game from a PC and get the game pushed to the mobile. Now, there is a message that said "Get this game from Store on your phone."

Secondly, "Purchase History" is no longer available via the web. Visit WindowsPhone.com and sign in. Click the "Purchase History" link under your account and it will redirect to account.microsoft.com. The complete list of purchases and Reinstall buttons are gone.

It's my understanding they are getting ready for 10 and moving toward Universal Apps. I assume this is a work in progress.

Why there is no proper answer?

The "proper" answer is that Microsoft is gearing up for the new store, and it is a work in progress. Features should be available within a few weeks, if not sooner. Databases have to be moved, converted, merged, and it takes time to get it all right.

Exactly. This work does not magically happen with the flip of a switch. It is a huge undertaking that will take time. All we can do is wait for the final product which will hopefully be to our liking.

Patience ceased being a virtue sometime in early 2002, I believe.

More like it ceased at the moment people had access to both a microwave and pizza delivery in 30 minutes or free.

I once put instant coffee in the microwave. I almost went back on time.

How to download manual apps from new store

How can i download manual apps from new store
The new store doesn't have options to download the apps as like before ?

Re: How to download manual apps from new store

They're still working on the Store. You're talking about downloading the XAP files for manual installation of apps. I noticed this feature is absent from the new Store as well... The only suggestion I have is to download them from third parties until they get the Store finished.

I had to do this with one of my games that just wouldn't download and install from the Store. Here's where I found the XAP file for Age of Empires for example:

Age of Empires: Castle Siege XAP 1.10.0.0 - Free Strategy & Simulation Game for Windows Phone - Appx4Fun

edit: while this might be a workaround temporarily, while we wait for the issues for the store to be resolved, always approach these third party sites with caution, as they can sometimes be shady. Always use these third party sites at your own risk! None of us here, including myself, can be responsible for anything you download from an unofficial source. The above site that I linked was again, just an example of said workaround. The safest bet, is to wait until the unified store is finished.

@ 8mir. I have merged your thread with one of the many already existing on this issue.

They are transitioning the store towards Win 10 Mo and Universal Apps. It is a work in progress.

Re: How could I download apps from PC?

Hey!
Sorry about the late reply. You could still get the app files from the following site.
Appx4Fun - Top Windows Phone Apps and Games
You can use your PC to download the apps and then install them manually.
There's also this Windows Phone Store that still hasnt been integrated.
Windows Phone Apps+Games Store (???????)
You'll find the same good old store with the download links.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!
