This is another variation of the flaky bluetooth behavior in Windows phone 8.1 .
Here is the situation:
I drive a car with Bluetooth capability. The bluetooth receiver in my particular car supports only the Bluetooth Voice/Handset Profile and not A2DP. My HTC 8x is paired with the car and is connected. When it is connected, all audio from the HTC 8x regarding navigation voice prompts gets muted. This means no voice-prompts for navigation !. That's because the Here Drive+ app is trying to use the a2dp profile to send audio to the bluetooth receiver but since the receiver is not a2dp compatible, no sound is produced. Now, there is a setting in the phone under settings-bluetooth-advanced, to use an alternative method for audio. This apparently forces the phone to use the voice/handset profile. Now, the audio comes through the car speakers but it is unusable and only a small fraction of the audio command words are heard. The only way i can use navigation is to disconnect the bluetooth of the phone from the car. This is a clear bug, either in Windows 8.1 or in the Here Drive+ application. The behavior of the OS should be to send audio to the phone's speaker if the bluetooth device does not support a2dp. I think the fix for this should be made in the OS rather than the here drive+ application because other applications should be treated the same way.
Btw, most BMWs in the 2007-2008 vintage probably only support the handset profile in bluetooth so other people will face this issue as well.

Hi SpeedWheels, I also have a car that the Bluetooth is only for phone/text to voice. I use waze for navigation and it does not use the car Bluetooth. I do have an a2dp adapter that hooks up to my Line-in to stream music and my other apps to my speakers. I have a Lumia 1020 but I am not experiencing this bug. I will try to use the Here Drive + navigation and see if I have this issue with app only.

I didn't read through all the threads but I have a Lumia 1020 and the only bug I gotten so far is that when I go to my messages/text my phone freezes then the app crashes and goes back to start screen, this happens randomly about twice a day. After the second time it would be fine. I just had it happen going into one of my mailboxes. It would freeze and it would not close, I would have to hit the start button or hold down the back button to close the app but everytime I went into the mailbox it froze. Finally I just turned off and turned on my phone and it is ok. I wonder if there is a memory leak that the phone is running out of memory. Has anyone else experience this type of bug?

Just installed Cyan on my AT&T L920, when I go into Battery Saver, Internet Explorer "App in background" usage is full. I am not sure why it would be that way, also, a few other apps, including Hotmail, Messaging, WPCentral and People have quite a bit of background usage. I have done a soft reset a few times, it goes away for a bit, but comes back. Anybody else have this problem? I can post a screen shot if need be

I had the same issue as well, battery was draining crazy and IE in the background was almost full always. Multiple soft resets didnt work, did a hard reset ! I have a lumia 925 in AT&T US version.

After the update my music app wont play songs in loop more than twice. I have to reboot the phone then it works. Also the phone goes dark sometimes and responds to key press almost after a minute. The only soloution i have got is soft reset. I own a lumia 1520.

Blah, thank you, I figured I may have to do that, did you do a back up and restore or did you just do a complete reset and not use a restore?

So to answer my own question -- I needed to do TWO hard resets to get rid of the random reboots on L1020 that started with Cyan upgrade. Sorry that I wasn't able to come up with a quicker and easier fix, but I hope this helps somebody with the same problem.

I can't open it from my app list; when I touch it to open, it registers my touch, but doesn't do anything. When I do a press and hold, the only thing that pops up in the menu is "Pin to start" so I can't uninstall it. When I pin to start, it's "grayed-out", and I can't click it. When I go to the app's page in the store, the usual "View" and "Share" buttons on the bottom panel is gone, the entire bottom-panel is blank. What is wrong? Integration still works, I can still upload to OneDrive from other apps, Photos, etc. But I can't open the app itself, or do anything else with it either, actually.

Firmware update to Cyan. Facebook videos are now staggering and most all of the time, they will back out, and close FB and return to the start screen. Only notice this in FB. WTF?

That's strange. I upgraded my 820 recently, too.

Want a tip — in case you haven't done it yet? Factory reset your phone; start the 8.1 from the scratch (don't forget to backup your apps + SMS before). A fresh start is always the best for a new system.

Hi guys,

I got my Lumia 925 2months ago, Since i'm microsoft-technology developer, I found these bug/missfunctions in WP8.1 on my lumia 925. I don't know where should i report them to official team, so i post it all here:

1) Auto-Brightness is responds too quickly to environment's light. If i switch the phone between my hands, Or change the angle of phone, screen brightness changes wrongly. Iphone change the brightness in a some seconds timewindow and average it on that timeframe.

2) WP8.1 don't use battery to it's last drops. My phone shuts down when battery reach 3%. Also i should mention that WP is very battery draining OS although it is very light.

3) Notification center buttons is not rotating with phone rotation.

4) Notification center buttons can not be customized (Added some more buttons i need)

5) When I am in a fullscreen application, and a notification comes from another App, there is not way to hide the notification right away, and i should bear and wait until it wipes out from screen. For example if you are playing a game, this notification can cover top of your screen and cannot be closed.

6) Sometimes when i press the Power button, it goes to Camera instead of turning off the phone! (I dont know if it's hardware problem or software or even it is just for me!)

These are from my first months experience. If you know where can i send it for official WP team, please tell me or do it please.

Any thought on these items?

My 925 and my colleagues 825 have recently updated and since neither phone will read out received SMS messages whilst connected to our in-car bluetooth devices. They functioned perfectly prior to the update but now my acknowledges a text has been received but will not read it out....

I did notice that the Live Lock screen crashes sometimes but not very often. And when it does crash it simply goes to the default wallpaper lock picture.

My girlfriend constantly changes the tiles by accident, because he keeps the phone in hangbag where the palm is put often by accident. The layout mode should be harder to activate!

Internet explorer keeps crashing after 8.1 update. It doesn't matter what website I'm on, it happens randomly. Very frustrating. Tried soft reset. Didn't want to do hard reset. Any advice?
