wp 8.1 old appoiments missing from calendar

[Windows Central Question]

1 month ago i noticed that all my old appoiments were gone from the calendar app of my windows phone(lumia 930) . they still appear if i log in online, in the microsoft account, but if i write them again in the app, they vanish in seconds.
The calendar app is useless to me now, if i cant see past appointments/ entries. How do i make them visible on my phone??

you've not considered upgrading your phone to windows 10?
