WP8.1 very poor VPN support

It seems that the VPN support is extremely poor. No L2TP support, no PPTP support. Even the IKEv2 has no options to choose auuthentication type between mschap2,mschap1.
I have expected much more of this but it seems MS forgot that VPN means also multiple protocols, not only their IKEV2.

Check top 5 VPN providers over the internet. None of them work with WP8.1 because of this stupid implementation of VPN in wp8.1.
Too bad...Not all companies have IKEV2.

I Agree, I was hoping for L2TP by default. I hope this changes....

I complained about this too - considering they were banging on about bringing VPN support. It's crazy that Windows Server 2012's default VPN for Remote Desktop Services is SSTP/SSL and yet they offer no support for it. A bit of a fail on this

The junos pulse, and Cisco anyconnect apps do not work either.

Windows Phone 8.1 does not have PPTP support which is the default standard when creating a VPN on Windows Server 2012 R2. Absolute shambles!

Seems like in Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1, L2TP with IPsec was added, I was hoping the VPN performance keeps getting better.
