Hey folks,

I did a search but couldn't find anything on this. Recently purchased a Lumia 820 w/ WP8 and really feeling it. The main reason I puchased it was for office/onenote integration with my desktop, which works seamlessly. However! The WP8 keyboard is massive and takes up nearly 3/4 of the screen when I'm typing (see screenshot). I'd really like to reduce the keyboard size by maybe half to show more usable territory.

Is there an inbuilt or 3rd party feature I could use to do this? I appreciate any responses.

Not that I know of. It's pretty annoying. Especially with the phone in landscape mode (Lumia 920 here). I've learnt to get accustom to it. When I want to see before pressing send or save or anything to do with the keyboard, I just hit the back button and the keyboard minimizes. When I'm ready to go again. Tap, and it comes back up....

Next to no keyboard customisations in Windows Phone. I hope some options are planned for future versions, especially with Google shipping a gesture keyboard by default with Jelly Bean.

Nokia should have gone with 16:9, wouldn't help that much but would show 1-2 more lines at least.

Thanks for the replies all, I've just had to get used to hitting the back button when I've finished typing. It breaks continuity so I hope MS bring out a resizable keyboard or something soon. Cheers!
