Is there a way to sort the apps in Zune and the "reviews" section on this site? I love the great reviews, but I was curious if I can sort so that we can see the highest to lowest rated reviews. Likewise on Zune, it seems you have to click on each app to see the reviews. Why can't the apps in each category be sorted from highest ranked to lowest???

its just built that way, 9 times out of 10 they are just posted by date.

They really don't want to do that when the writers review an app they are trying to give us a good overview of the app so we can form our own opinion of the Apps value. I think writers want you to have all the information about an app so you can decide if you want to give it a try if its content will be useful to you. I personally wouldn't want anyone telling me if an app is good or bad just tell me what is does I will decide its value.

I don't like the WPcentral app, is really slow. I find my self using the normal ( I don't like the web one either ) site when I'm on the go.

Interesting, what do you find slow about it? I have it loaded including the first article loaded from 5 seconds from hitting the tile.

Navigating to other articles is really fast for me and that's using 3G not Wi-Fi

I find browsing the wpcentral in IE much slower and much prefer the app. It's totally convenient and I find it very speedy.

Does anyone else find the wpc app slow ?

I dunno maybe is my connection but the news take at least a full minute load, compared to just seconds on the actual browser.

In reality it is not slow, but it does give the feeling of slow.

When you first load it up, it re-downloads the images from the previously stored articles; and then after it loads those images it then loads the newest articles, and then the newest articles images. So it gives the appearance and feel of being slow, when yes, it is actually faster then IE.

It also locks the app up when download content. Giving that impression even more.

Not at all. Lest on ny HTC HD7 I find the app to be rather fast.

What does any of this have to do with the question that the OP asked? Am I missing something? Thread jacking is against the forum rules please get this thread back on topic.

I don't want to condone the thread jacking but I'm going to say once again, and for the last time, Winterfang please contact me through the app's feedback button so I can try and figure out why the app seems to run so much slower for you. As I've said before you seem to be an isolated case.

Enahs picked up on some of how the app works, I'd like to remind people that Mango will bring some smart image caching and fix stuttery scrolling. The app actually does most of the loading work in background threads but has to switch some work over to the main UI thread for the final part when I populate the article list objects otherwise I can run into some pretty bad crashes later on
