Hey everybody,

Has anybody experienced wrist or hand pain from using the surface pen too long or too frequently? I've been feeling discomfort in the area between my pinky and wrist side.

yup, I have, I use the surface to take notes in college. Get the surface hub app from the microsoft store. It will let you increase the pen sensitivity so you don't have to apply so much pressure. That solved the problem for me.

Thanks for that tip. How do you usually take notes portrait or landscape? Do you grip the pen hard?

I do both portrait and landscape, but more often portrait. I do grip the pen pretty hard I would say, so applying the extra pressure made it a lot worse for me. Another thing that I did was add an anti-glare screen protector. It takes care of the super annoying glare (I don't want to see the ceiling light fixtures while I take notes) and also adds more resistance to the screen so it isn't so slippery and feels more like paper. I really like it. However, it does affect the clarity of the screen a little (not by much, doesn't bother me) and the pen nib seems to wear down a little more quickly since the surface is rougher. For me, the benefits outweigh, just thought I'd mention it.

How long did it take to get rid of your pain?
Also do you write with your palm touching the screen?

well, I did not have permanent pain from writing on the surface. It was only right after I was done writing for a few minutes. Now I don't have that anymore, no more than with a normal pencil and paper anyway. If you have permanent pain now, you should maybe have your doctor look at it, maybe it is something with the nerve.

Yes, I rest my palm on the screen.
