Xbone Power Supply Brick

So I'm in the preview program for Xbox One. At what point did the light on the power brick go from being orange to white, when my consoleis powered down?....

I've always had it in "instant-on" mode, but I'm pretty sure the light used to turn orange when I turned it off. Now it just stays white, allllllll the time!

(This actually came about from me trying to figure out why my power bill has spiked for the past 2 cycles)

This is normal behavior for instant on mode/standby, it only turns orange when the console is completely off.
