Xbox Live Avatar Disappeared

Has this happened to anyone else. Very randomly my Xbox live avatar disappeared of my Live tile. When I open the Xbox live app the screen that normally shows a picture of your avatar with the gamer score beside it, shows a large gray box in the place of the avatar. I've checked to make sure my live id is synced and it is. Any suggestions?

Yeah this happened to my dad's phone, when I was visiting last weekend the only way I could figure to fix it is to use the phone's avatar editor to change something about your avatar, then save the changes. Should fix it
