I upgraded to both Cyan and 8.1, and the phone is SOOOOOOOOOOOO slow. No matter what. Tried a factory reset, same problem.
It feels like I have Windows 8 on a netbook.

I DO like the features, I do NOT like how the phone feels like a snail trying to crawl a mile.
I think cortana is the biggest problem. The moment she turned on the phone acted like a turtle crossing a road.

How do I downgrade from this mess?

You've actually got to be kidding me. Because that is soo mot the case...

I suggest giving it another 24-48 hours for the system to "settle in". I too experienced an initial slowness (on the 8.1 DP) but after some time, it was as responsive as it was under 8.0.

Learn to spell before calling me out, and it IS the case.

I'll try that. Its been about 10 hours.

Absolutely no issues here or with friends. All are running better with Cyan and 8.1.
Well my mother has the same phone and she is also having slowdown issues.

Cyan is running MUCH smoother than it was on the 8.1 DP on my 520. The firmware really did the trick for me.

Got Cyan on my Lumia 1020,smoothness ,not more random reboots too,not gonna enroll back in Developer Preview, satisfied with what 8.1 has to offer, will will on just official releases from now on

What happened to "rollin' da dice?"

I've been extremely happy on the Preview for Developers since it came out. *shrug*

Using cyan on my L520 for about 10hours, first impression: Now I got a laggy phone... Lock/unlock sound delayed 2-3sec?! Dafuq... UI animation sometimes stuttering, I even disabled wallpaper just to get more speed but same. Resuming screen sometimes when going to start screen... Now I feel I want 8.0 back :/

Cyan takes you from 8 to 8.1. Despite the .1 it IS a major shift in the OS.

Didja try a hard reset?

I know it's updates to 8.1 that's why I said I want 8.0 back. Btw it feels better now, also I made a hard reset, but still... uhm... feels strange sometimes.

Everything is pretty much smooth except going back to homescreen sometimes and that animation when the tiles are redrawed :/ It's pretty bad looking.. maybe it will go away after a few days, don't know if i should bother with hard reset and will it help..

I have the same, hard reset helped, but still happens sometimes, especially after using IE.
