Your Hotmail account settings are out-of-date

Just recently my Hotmail account has stopped syncing all together. Email, contacts and calendar. When I go to sync, I get the following message, "Your Hotmail account settings are out-of-date." When I click that and it says it fixes it. But as soon as I hit done the error comes right back. I have tried removing the account and restarting then adding it back with no luck. Don't really want to do a reset but any of suggestions?

Mine did the same until I stopped using the local sign in and used the Microsoft account login start page

Well nothing I tried work and had to do a hard reset with the recovery tool. All is working now.
