Windows 10 32bit or 64bit ?

Hi,I have a Win7 Home Premium 32bit PC. When I upgrade to Win10 can I upgrade to 64bit?

First you can upgrade on July 29th 2015. Second, your free upgrade, based on the OS you listed, will be a 32 bit version of Windows 10 Home.

No, you cannot change architecture when upgrading, you have to use a DVD or an ISO and install clean.

Yes. Whatever number of bits you have before the upgrade, that's how many you have after.

Anything else requires a new install, not an upgrade.

Does not matter what you "own" but rather what you have installed. If you have 32 bit, you will get 32bit, 64 to 64 as well. The ONLY way to switch is to perform a Clean Install (wipe all and start over).

Hope that clears it up a bit.

If you want a sure-fire way to find out what architecture you are on, do the following:

Open PowerShell
Type the following command: (Get-WmiObject Win32_OperatingSystem).OSArchitecture

You should see either of the following:

64-bit
32-bit

This will tell you once and for all what you have and will get.
