I am trying to upgrade since last night and I always get the 80240020 error. (That's a different topic though, right now im trying to do it with the external setup tool)
To try out the install with the ISO I used my second machine and downloaded the Windows 10 Pro ISO because i have 2 Windows 8.1 Pro licences. I thought it would be the natural upgrade for my version. Somehow my CD key is invalid.
But I wasn't able to reserve Windows 10 on this second machnine because it was running an Insider version (installed trough ISO, so not updatet from 8.1), which bugged out and didn't want to update to 10240. Also a reason why I did the ISO install.
Do I need to install W. 8.1 now to be able to upgrade or is it just the wrong W10 version and I am actually only allowed to install W10 Home?
