USB Device not recognized when plugged in.
I have a Lumia 640 which was working perfectly ok, until I decided to upgrade to W10M 10.586.71 at the time. Since then the phone has stopped connecting to PCs via USB. When plugged in, a message comes up for a split second, USB device not recognized. I have tried a few steps I found online, involving trying to load the original firmware using Windows recovery tool. None of them have been successful. I have read where it was mainly Lumia 550 that did upgrades around that time were 1affected by that upgrade. So I am starting this thread, since I have a Lumia 640 LTE. Currently I am on build 10.0.14371.0, and still haven't seen this issue being addressed. I am in two minds to buy another L640, as I really love the phone otherwise. I have to be charging battery using a universal charger which is very tedious. Hopefully any one else having this issue can give feedback on this thread,.
