    This may just be a coincidence but i had the above problem,and tried most of the internet solutions to no avail.I then had a problem with "Avast secure browser" and decided to uninstall it.As a result the above problems disappeared and my computer which had been running slow suddenly ran properly.As i say may be coincidence but worth a try.

    Glad you were able to resolve it. I'm an Avira, Antivir, user myself. You might try that one instead of Avast.

    I've been using Eset for years (after it detected a keylogger our corporate a/v missed) and never had any performance issues with it.
