How do I get WP updates on a BYOD Nokia 1520 on Cricket network?

I brought my own device (Nokia1520) that was originally an ATT phone to Cricket. I have been on cricket for about 4 months and have not had any updates sent to the phone. I am running OS Black. I'm thinking because the 1520 isn't a standard phone available on cricket and I did the BYOD, I will not receive any phone updates from cricket. I think I'm at least one significant update behind. Is there a way to do the update without OTA from Cricket? Thanks!

You'll get the updates when AT&T releases them. You should have the Cyan update. The 1520 is one of the first AT&T devices to get the Cyan update.

be cautious with that update if you are using internet sharing.

Thanks for the info. I wonder why the phone says it's up to date with OS Black? so the phone doesn't necessarily have to be on ATT to get updates? Or is it because Cricket is part of ATT?

Since it originated from AT&T, it is automatically eligible for whatever updates AT&T releases. Why you haven't been notified of the newest update is beyond me. O;
