Why doesn't my Lumia 1320 turn on when double tapped?

my lumia 1320 doesnt turn on when double tapped

my power button was broken ...and I use double tap to turn on my 1320...but sometimes it doesn't respond (mobile is not switched off but screen wont turn on ).

it used to work efficiently before....

On my 925 double tap sometimes does not work after having washed my hands, or having "wet" fingers for other reasons.
I'd guess you just notice this issue now since you use the feature more often than before.
Then again I know nothing about you, so I might as well be wrong
