I can happily confirm the secret button trick worked for me!

EDIT: for clarity, I just powered off, held the secret button down for over 30 seconds, powered on again, ran a battery monitor app, and then the correct level was shown and have had no problems since.
I too can confirm this after a week with no issue, glad to participate in a solution! This should really be added into a Troubleshooting/DIY fix thing.

After I upgraded my phone to the latest firmware from WDRT, the battery issue came back when it got knocked down to Windows 8.1. The battery probably remained after upgrading back to Windows 10.

I tried to solution found below (and in this thread) and it indeed worked, and made the batter last much longer than it used to be. I have updated the initial post with the solution and included below again:

    SOLUTION:
I have tested this, and it has solved my battery problem. It also made the battery last a lot longer. The (*) points are not necessary points what things I did.
    (*) Drained the battery low.
    1) Turn off the Phone.
    2) Take the Back Cover off. The RESET button can be located between the Power and Volume Down Buttons.
    3) Press and Hold the RESET button for 30s.
    4) Start the Phone and let the battery drain till it's low.
    5) Charge the Phone as normal to 100% (problem should be fixed)
(*) Repeat in discharging the phone low, then charge it again max for the initial "training" phase.

Hello, thank you very much for the picture.. Done now, and thank you very much! Because there wasn't a screen confirmation of reset or any change at all in my phone settings after pushing "that button" I wasn't sure it was the right button, but your picture was really helpful, thanks.

After trying this solution, the phone seems to work without that issue again. (As in today 2016/05/04 I can confirm that the phone it's still working properly).

Thank you very much to everyone that helped in resolving this issue ^^

This picture needs to be added to the instructions for ease of use, then sticky this thread, and then add this to a FAQ, and so on and so forth, cookies.

Guys maybe I found the problem with ours battery issues it's because most of us use classic micro usb chargers.

I personally try any micro usb adapters, 1.0A, 2.1A & even with external batteries before ordering a QuickCharge 3.0 adapter.

As u know, our phones got a Snapdragon 410 which is Quickcharge 2.0 ready.

So I think with classic adapters we use don't get enough power & that's why we running out of this issues.

The phone really takes long to charge with classic adapters but maybe

Let u know if it fix my issues when I get it. ;)

At least for me quick charge doesn't work, it always charges in slow mode, even when I am using iPad 2.1 Amp USB charger.

Just saying, this has already been tested and busted, it is not the issue with this matter and therefore further measures were taken. If you are having a completely different problem, then please search elsewhere. This thread is for discharging while plugged into charger, the amperage didn't change anything.

Thank you and have a nice day.

This may be a really silly question, so sorry in advance.
1.) Is there any kind of on-screen confirmation that the reset was made? Because I tried the described solution and there isn't anything after powering the machine back on that tells me if was actually reset.
2.) My phone was not wiped. So did you actually "format" phone and SD card or it just worked again like that?

    Thank you in advance.

    1. No, there is no on screen confirmation because it is like a soft reset with taking out the battery from the phone.

    2. As it is can be referred to soft reset, no it should not wipe out or delete any contents from your phone.

To check if it has helped - fully discharge your phone and then charge it to see whether the problem has been fixed.

I had this issue with my 1020.
Solution 1. - let the device charge without any use for about 30mins. Get the battery around 20-30% before use.
    2. Check your charging port. Mine would charge slowly but not connect to the computer. Had to change the port. Hope this helps

Sorry was busy maybe we got a misunderstanding here that's why I deleted my post.

Anyway since I got my Aukey Quickcharge 3.0 charger I no longer face this & any other issues.

I'm even able now to use my phone when it charge without any battery drop.

I flashed the latest 10510 firmware for the x150e via the WDRT & I'm on 8.1 GDR2 now everything is working fine.

Hope it can help anyone who's got a battery charge weirding issues.

    Have a nice day too.

3.0? be careful with that high amperage, this phone was built before the 3amp chargers, and the battery is rated for 2.1amps. I'm sure you've already read that the higher amp chargers were tested and thought to have fixed it, only to return the same issues afterwards. I too flashed my phone through the WDRT and that still had no effect, it took a week to a day depending on how the stars were aligned between the two options.

Only thing that worked was that button between the Volume Down and the Power/Lock Screen buttons, powered off the phone, held that button for 30s and voila! problem swiftly solved and i didn't have to spend the $45 i did on the charger and cable.

Man QuickCharge is a technology built in ur Qualcomm CPU just like TurboBoost on Intel processor.

The number doesn't mean it charge at this output also I let u done ur research on it & u gonna learning more about it.

An Aukey charger which is certified by Qualcomm the manufacturer of your CPU cost no more than 10 here & I'm pretty sure u get one for 20 bucks max in US & u can use it for all ur phones even iPhones.

Also it comes with a 24 months warranty & all the protection needed that's why he looks big.

Next time just do a little research to avoid misunderstanding, many people don't know what they are talking about this day even the pseudos specialist.

In case just check by yourself before buying anything.

The output of any modern charger is set dynamically, usually it does not give more current than device attempts to take, so having charger with high current rate is not as bad as having a charger with low current rate (higher output - reduces power to supply just the required current. Lower output - has a nice voltage drop once device is connected, which in time can kill power IC, or if we're talking about cheapo chinese chargers - voltage PWM IC inside the charger will blow off (sometimes with smoke, sometimes not. :D ).

However, do not try to connect anything directly to PC PSU 5V line, it has at least 10 Amp output if I recall correctly, which has a really interesting effect on most phones, like bang and smoke coming out from the device.

And Kamikazi, you at least got a nice USB cable!

  23. Kamikazi2142's Avatar
Yeah i got that cable specifically for research purposes, at which i found out, even though it was plugged into the charger, it still wouldn't charge, as the cable only lights up when it is charging. and before i did the button fix, it would only charge while the phone was unlocked and active, but halt charging after it locked either manually or automatically. The cable lights would just stop "flowing" to the phone.
I tried connecting it to 1.1,2.1, and 3 amp connectors, even connected it to my ASUS USB port that supports the BC 1.1, but the device was NOT recognized as a compatible BC 1.1 device.
Yes i didn't know that this CPU had a built in volt regulator, but that has nothing to do with chargers, that's all internal on the CPU, also not related to the topic at hand too. I did do some research on this, and turns out that QC2.0 is really only going to utilize the 2.1A of your 3.0A charger, where as the QC3.0 being advertized by Qualcomm now is going to utilize 3.0A at a slight increase in charge capacity. Still not making it BC1.1 compatible like an iPod or iPhone, on my motherboard.
I do thank you for your feedback, but if your only experiencing slow to no charging while using the device plugged in on a 1.1A charger, that is common and misunderstood as a "problem" your device uses as much as it gets, if not more, which would result in looking like it is a glitch or error. It's ok, it seems to be more common than not, i spend most of my time redirecting customers to higher Amperages for their phones. And while yes your statement of "Amps" not mattering the device only takes what it needs, true to an extent, as where gabriel92 pointed out, you don't want to hook it up to the 5V rail on a PSU, you'll get a kaboom from your phone. Sure lower amps don't matter but you will add unneccessary strain to your battery or other internal components thus shortening the lifespan of the charge circuit or general phone components in general. Unless you have some kind of smart charger, that has an ASPM circuit built in to regulate the output automatically per the phones digital communication request, then sure, but i'm doubtful such a charger even exists. But otherwise that will all be limited by the QC2.0 of the CPU.

Electronics is something of a hobby of mine, i do appreciate the opportunity to learn about new things, but there are some things that just either make sense or don't, and that whole QC compatible charger, is not right. Gabriel92 made it clear about that, its strictly phone side, there is no intercommunication between the device and charger, it will just use what it can to charge faster, nothing really special, which still kinda holds onto the truth of what i was saying earlier. The stronger charger doesn't fix this problem though, its a battery charge controller reset needed, which is located as mentioned many times earlier. Though i have a suspicion that you aren't suffering the strange discharge or lack of charging while plugged in, i recommend grabbing a lighted cable like mine to see if it charges while the screen is locked. Cuz if not, then the only fix is that button there between the power and volume down buttons.

AND... yes i do have a fancy cable tyvm, it helped me debug this charging error.

If so I'll be mighty pleased, as I was just checking out how to get a warranty replacement.
Not only was my phone charge all over the place, the phone kept turning itself on and off.

Have to say I've always got a reply from BLU using their contact link under BLU Help, Service, Email us. Mind you I've only used it twice!
But I'm still waiting for W10 update.
