I have a lumia 1520
Whenever i connect it to my laptop(win 7) with provided USB cable, it is ok and media can be shared and charging is done too
but sometimes when i disconnect the cable from the computer, a blue screen flashes up on my laptop and it restarts
but nothing happens to my phone
What should i do to prevent this?

right click on your phone on the PC in Explorer (etc.)
click 'EJECT' which disconnects the phone (an external drive) from PC
(unless you already do that).

Is it the famous BSOD (blue screen of death)? If it is, then its a driver issue and you need to uninstall the driver the lets your pc and phone communicate and try to reinstall it. If you can I recommend downloading the driver or software directly from Microsoft. Hth

Bottom right of the Taskbar ---> Show Hidden Icons ---> Safely Remove Hardware & Eject Media icon ...

USB Remove Hardware - Eject Lumia 1520.jpg
... click on Eject Lumia 1520 & wait for "Safe to Remove Hardware" pop up ---> unplug your Lumia 1520 ...

PC OS : Win7 Pro x64 ...

on my PC (Win 7 Ultimate) I have no Windows Phone icon on my remove devices applet, but have not had a BSOD yet when removing the phone ...I think MS wants us to upgrade to Win 8, but they made Win 7 so well that I am reluctant to do this
