Dev unlock limit

I have a developer unlocked device....i know there's a limitation that you can only unlock 3 devices with one developer account...now if I register my device and then unregister it and do this thrice does that count as registering 3 devices or not??...i know it sounds kinda stupid but just wanted to know..

Afaik, the limit is 3 devices at a time. So you can unlock and lock devices as many as you want but 3 at a time can be unlocked.

can you dev unlock any wp8 device? i am thinking about dev unlocking my ativ us or getting a lumia 928 and unlocking it and sideloading the recently pulled youtube xap file. and for that matter if i dev unlock can i sideload other wp8 xaps and even some home brew 7.x xaps?

You can unlock any WP device, and you can only have 3 unlocked at a time. If you want to unregister, you have to do so at the dev center in your dashboard.

As for sideloading xap files that were taken illegally from the store, for example the now-removed YouTube app, from what I recall reading, it won't work. Someone tried it with the USAA app when it was pulled and it didn't work.
