Seems like much more of a hardware issue so I doubt MS had much say. It's puzzling why HTC would release a phone that didn't have such a basic feature.

Well not as much hardware as the OEM tampering with the OS. Please HTC, build the phone and install WP OS7. Don't add anything else. Microsoft does not need your help. Really.

Until (and if) this gets fixed and you need to use your HTC Arrive, check out Txt Stamp which at least helps the situation a little.
