it seems like working ok so far, my windows hello camera still randomly having a hard time to be turn on and work, luckily I still have my finger print log in as backup.

I just applied the 2/17/16 Surface Pro 4 update and all were successful... except the system hardware update which failed. Checking around the web, others are having same issue. Windows Update doesn't recognize need to reinstall.
Anyone know where the manual system hardware firmware update might be? Went to Microsoft manual update page and is way out of date. Thanks all

Just installed the update. It completely borked my audio drivers. For some reason my SP4 cannot detect when headphones are plugged in. Also, I had to reset the audio default to Realtek because after the update, it was defaulting to S23C570 Intel Audio Driver which wasn't outputting any sound.

Is anyone else having this issue?

EDIT: I figured it out actually. Had to set my headphones to default so that the surface is smart enough to switch between the headphones or speakers......I hope there isn't anymore harm done by this update.

Ahhhhh, sweet sleep, how I missed thee!

Scrolling seems smoother in Firefox, maybe the new display driver. Thank you Microsoft and Intel for your diligent efforts!

I am having the exact same issue.

New updates installed, closed my SP4 an hour ago, came back to it piping hot (hottest its ever been) and battery down to 14% from 60%, not jumping the gun but I pray this was a fluke incident!!

Update: "Hot-bag" this morning which caused a 20% drop in battery during my 45min commute to work.

Update 2: this thing is an unstable mess! Not a day goes by without a crash, fan on high while idle, high temps and overall loopy behavior. Its like I've been thrown back into the 90's. Yay, I look forward to spending 5 hours resetting and reinstalling! Total POS! Skylake, Microsoft's shoddy hardware and undercooked OS are all to blame! What was supposed to be the best Surface has been my worst (I've owned SP, SP2, Surface 3 and SP4) BY FAR!

My Windows Hello camera still doesn't turn on from boot/screen off some times, so that issue definitely isn't fixed with this update.

Unless I'm imagining it, the Surface also feels noticeably warmer than usual with same activity (browsing web, office apps etc)

Well, I can assure you that for me the issue is gone.I put it to bed at 78%, and I woke up today 6 hours later with 77%, but it dropped almost instantly to 76%. I'd say the issue is fixed. The funny thing is that I needed to restart about 3 times, and one of those times it needed to be force restarted (like power button + volume). Best of luck :)

Two sleep sessions finally show DRIPS. Both show about 130mW drain per hour, but WiFi was on during sleep. I'll turn that off and hopefully I'll see the number go down. Finally! It only took the MFers 4 months. Maybe I can find more use for the SP4 now, instead of it sitting on top of my digital piano :)

Update went fine for me. SP4 was on all day while at work. Came home to everything downloaded and just rebooted. Checked reliability history and all updates were successful.

Just one issue still. I still get the lock screen crash sometimes when waking from sleep. Attaching/reattaching keyboard seems OK though. That would some times cause a hang.

I worked with MS tech support for an hour. Tried everything they did:
a) Hard reset (volume up + press power button for 40 sec). Then press power button for 4 sec.
b) Ran Windows Update Troubleshooter
c) Cannot uninstall a failed firmware update. Windows Update doesn't "see" that the system hardware update failed & thinks my system is up to date

She finally suggested I do a "reset this PC" and have Windows redo the 2/17/16 update. I was docked at the time of previous upgrade and read some folks has issues if type board wasn't attached, sound drivers, etc. Going to do a undocked w/keyboard only Reset & run through until I get to this upgrade and see what happens.

Can you try to delete some things?

1. Go into "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download" and delete everything in that folder.
2. Now, run the command prompt as an administrator. Type in "wuauclt.exe /updatenow".

See if that works.

Day 1 with new updates and already 3 hot-bag incidents, another with the surface just sitting on my desk, fans going nuts, almost too hot to hold, nothing open! Thermal management seems waaaay, waaay worse. Damn you to hell Microsoft!

really random everyone is getting all these hog bags, mine is cold, and only losing about 1% regardless of how long it's sleep.

Updates were downloaded and installed in a single session. It was a much faster download than I expected for a firmware update. My speed at home varies between 236/400 MB/s depending on where I am. Just to be sure I rebooted twice and checked for more updates. Sleep function seems to work very well, without any noticeable loss of battery life. The hot bag syndrome, as described above, could not be tested yet. The SP4 I have has been very enjoyable from day one, and has become better over time. I'm hooked into this Eco-system.
