Ive watched the video. The os takes waay to much memory compared to wp7. The max ram that can be used is 180mb. We will probably have a more efficient os in wp8.1. But they could still push it up to maybe 200mb.
That's because most people these days realize the 640k quote isn't entirely real.No one has mentioned that 640k is all you should need? 130MB is loads of memory!
Because. You can never get more than 130MB app memory. Unless Microsoft choose WP to become a second Android.
Not sure which question you are 'answering', but please explain what you mean by each of your 'sentences'.
I'm answer why the OP should lock the thread. Because its pointless to have more ram usage on app that the phone only has 512mb ram.
the maximum app memory an app can have on 512mb devices is 180mb. If it goes any higher, they would have to make the os kill of important tasks like voip(calling) and notifications to have gain more memory (like android does)I think that sort of explains your first two sentences, but not the third. What does this have to do with Android?

Ok, I'm too lazy to watch 47 minutes of video. Can you point me to where they talk about Android killing important tasks, to the nearest 30 seconds? Also please explain what symptoms I would experience if Android does this - presumably I will have experienced this?
