640 users, how do you like your purchases??

Tmo 640, I like it so far and its a lot lighter than my L920. I do miss the quick camera button though! Waiting for my case and screen protector before I take it out for a test drive, the phone sure does feel slippery.

I'm liking mine. I downgraded from an M8 to the 640. Not much of a difference. I've noticed that things aren't quite as fast since it only has 1GB of RAM compared to the M8's 3GB, but it's not bad - just a touch slower. The camera is better than the one on the M8.

I'm happy with the purchase.

I'm sorry but my OCD is driving me insane. 2GB of RAM. The HTC One M8 has 2GB of RAM. Thank you.:P

I'm on T-Mobile, switched from Android nexus 5 to this 640 as a daily use device. At first it was a little frustrating relearning the new os and functions.
After the the beginners learning I find the 640 very capable device. Liking the battery. It's awesome. T-Mobile service where I live is great... Venturing into the wild mountains is another story. I've had billing issues before with T mobile, but they corrected it when I called.

Think you'll enjoy the device and the UN carrier, but in the end to each their own. GL

My bad...for some reason I was thinking it had 3GB. Memory is getting old. Either way, that extra 1GB made it a little faster & smoother than the 640, but not enough I'm unhappy with the 640.

No worries...I was going from my memory, which apparently suffered a memory fault. :) The extra 1GB that the M8 has still makes it smoother than the 640, but not enough to be bothersome.

I really like the form factor and hardware but IE is killing it for me. It also amazes me that Windows Central runs better on all other platforms than its own windows phones. Unbelievable. Not to mention the fact that the app is free on iOS, android and blackberry but is a paid app in the windows store.

I just got my Lumia 640 today. Switched to T-Mobile from Sprint and I have to say, it was totally worth it. Came from a Samsung ATIV S Neo, and after having several issues with it, its nice to finally have a Lumia in my hands. That being said, there are two initial issues I have with the 640. Firstly, is the back cover. T-Mobile only offered the white one, which I knew I wouldn't like. The back cover also makes the phone feel cheap. Secondly, the teensy speaker on the back is pathetic. Not only does it produce barely mediocre sound, notifications at level 7 or higher make the back case vibrate, interfering with the sound. All of that being said, I am happy with my purchase. Neither of my two complaints are serious enough for me to regret buying the 640.

I bought my 640 as a backup phone for a 925, and I really like it, except for bluetooth issues. I installed Mobile 10 10149, and that has been a real adventure :unhappysweat:, but I have it working really well now and I am really loving this phone. Still with the bluetooth issues though, so I will probably switch between the two for a while.
Pro tip on being a Tmo customer: I have been with them almost 9 years, and what I have found is that service and responsiveness in the stores is really a box of chocolates, but when I call them on the phone, they take really good care of me.

Two months in and I love it. Size is perfect. Battery is great, camera excellent in bright conditions (average in low light though). Menu's are great. Text's(keyboard is excellent), dialler, email, all good. Radio good quality, youtube in browser is really good. Cannot wait for upgrade.
I have the white glossy case. A few minor scratches on the back but nothing noticeable.

I am tempted by the 640XL but as I am on T-mobile WiFi Calling and VOLTE are more important to me.

I was too but I need WiFi calling. I live out in the middle of nowhere and not a single carrier has a good signal here.

I did try 10149 which ran beautifully for an evening. Woke up the next morning and had no data connection even though the icons indicated that i did. Had to revert to be LG G3 for the day and reinstalled 8.1 that evening. I'll wait for a more stable TP before I attempt again. In sayng that, Edge browser is simply amazing and the general UI upgrade is fast, smooth and looks brilliant. Can't wait to install WP 10 in the near future.

It is a great phone. I upgraded from L520 and see a huge difference, in terms of speed, size and great battery, and glance features.
Only thing I noticed that sometimes the screen gets colours garbled and off-colour. A reboot fixes that glitch.
Regards

Ok, I spontaneously bought a dual sim XL off amazon for $227. IT is due today. However, last night I saw a 640 on Walmart's website for $99 and bought it to pick up today... SO, I will have a Tmobile 640 and an dual SIM XL today. Will have to weigh all comparisons. Cost vs features, etc... THis is my second phone for work, (They give out old blackberry curves so I buy my own) so my main use is messaging and email. Currently have a 925 that I use in this capacity. Will be a fun weekend!

I haven't unboxed my 640 yet. I purchased it at the Microsoft Store online for $129.00. I'm now wondering if it would be wise to return it and buy elsewhere. The free flourescent yellow Nokia headphones that came with the order were a nice gesture but are assuredly not an incentive for me to keep the order, although I do want an operational 640 and to switch to T-Mobile from AT & T. Im currently using a Nokia Lumia 635.
