8.1 phone , 8.1 pc , making calls from pc.

A while back I was able to plug my Lumia phone running 8.1 into my 8.1 pc via a usb cable, I would then get lots of options via the windows phone app, one of these options was to make calls on my pc desktop.
I could type in the number on an on screen number keypad or use my contacts, the call could be heard via my pc speakers.

For some reason I cannot do this anymore. All I can do is transfer files from my phone to pc and back again.

Am I missing something?

This is news to me - were you using the desktop version of the Windows Phone app or the modern UI version?

were you making calls on 8.1 and then did you update to 8.1.1 and you then you could not? That might be the explanation
