After downloading Windows 10 . My Norton security keeps shutting off and defender takes over, what can I do?

After downloading windows 10 . My Norton security keeps shutting off and defender takes over .

I removed Norton and then re downloaded it . Worked fine until i had to restart computer . Now i am back to square one .

Are you running the latest version of norton? There was a patch for w10 issues released last year somewhere
