I reset it and will stay away from edge and windows hello for now. So no more ******** from me.
No more fan noise from surfing or videos.

I returned mine for a new one being that I was getting a load of problems. Since having the new one I haven't allowed the system to update to the latest firmware and all seems to be working now with the exception of bugs that are simply teething issues which I hope Microsoft is hard at work fixing soon.

No just factory reset and did the updates. I did make sure passive cooling was being used while on battery.

i5 model? Can you open powershell and type "powercfg /q"? I'm curious to know if it came with the system cooling policy set to Passive while plugged in.

Interesting, out of the box mine was set to Passive.
