Today James and the higher ups are insisting on adding the Nokia X phones to WPC. However it is done where ever they windup on the forum its going to be an all out war in that area. I need all hands on this one. We will not be discussing android in those device forums. All threads about Android, hacking, google services need to be closed and referred to the AC forums. Any thread that turns into an argument will be closed no BS. We will be discussing Bing services on Nokia X devices. We will be discussing how these devices will be used for growing WP OS. All other threads Android related will be closed and referred to AC. We do not handel device support here that is for AC we will support questions about Microsoft services only.

It's hard to understand, but I am sure they have their reasons. Samsung has Android phones and they are discussed at AC. Samsung has Windows Phones and they are discussed here. Even altered versions of Android, like the Kindle are discussed at AC. We'll just go with the flow.

Noted, we'll keep an eye out. Maybe make a sticky thread detailing what will and won't be tolerated in that forum?

That's an option. I am still hoping they change their minds.

Next up:

Why don't you just call this place Nokia Central....

LOL, You remember when they had the Nokia Central (or Nokia whatever) news page with no forum, back in the day.

I'm sorry but I disagree. It's an Android device so it belongs at Android central period. I'm open to going with the flow if they are added though.

From what I understand these X phones will only be sold overseas in developing nations. It's probably something most of us will never even see, much less know about specific features. Referring people to articles will be about all that's possible.

I agree that Android Central is the place for discussion of these devices too. Just like how CrackBerry is place for discussion of BBM, not iMore or AC.

Daniel likes the strategy of the Nokia X. I'd be very surprised if it doesn't come here.

And the usual suspects, ohgood and tgp already in a thread there. What a surprise.

Thanks Laura. Suppose the move of location did the trick.

Let's keep an eye on this forum. If need be I can craft a sticky, but am hoping all is good now.

I moved it to the new forum so they'd have another thread in there. If it's a problem, can always move it back.

Those reading the front page already know that I am baffled about this Nokia X. What is this thing? A weird hybrid that fits nowhere. Anyone understands how this is supposed to lure people to WP as opposed to Android? I've been very vocal about this and clearly I don't get it. Anyone here does?

Elop went on and on about how this will draw more people to Windows Phone but I'm failing to see why.

Even if new users get locked to Skype, Outlook and other MS services, their actual apps will be locked to Android. Even if those apps need to be side loaded, most users will still want to upgrade to a phone where they can continue to use their current setup. That means that Nokia X users will have to upgrade to Android if they want to keep their apps. Worse yet, most of Microsoft's services are available on Android. It seems like users upgrading from Nokia X to a WP would actually lose more than they gain.
