Under Background, change from Windows Spotlight to Picture or Slideshow. This stops Microsoft from pushing news, ads, and trivia to your lock screen. Optional: Disable Suggestions and Ads Elsewhere You might also want to turn off other promotional content: Settings → Privacy & security → General Toggle off “Show me suggested content in the Settings app”. Settings → System → Notifications Scroll down and disable “Suggest ways I can finish setting up my device” and “Get tips, tricks, and suggestions”. If It’s a Third-Party App If the pop-ups look like full news articles or browser-like windows, it could be: McAfee, Avast, or other antivirus software showing news Widgets or Edge launching automatically
