Best Video Post-Processor, and Locking Buttons During Shooting

Hi folks, I have a 930 with Denim and LC 5. I just recorded my first long video today (my son's grade school "graduation") - at one hour long. My arms are worn out! While zooming in/out, I accidentally tapped and refocused the image several times and also shut down the video several times by accidentally hitting the search icon and bringing up the Bing screen. So I have two questions:

1) Although I suspect the answer is no, is there anyway to lock the screen while shooting videos so the "tap to focus" is disabled and other unnnecessary screen icons (like Search) are disabled?

2) Since I had to restart the video several times, I now have 4-5 separate clips that I need to splice together. I plan to download them to my Windows 7 desktop. What is the best and easiest-to-use free desktop program that I can use to merge these clips together and do a few other very simple post-processing tasks?

Thank you!
Gary
