Black screen and nothing else after creators update

I have a surface pro 4 with windows 10 pro edition installed. I updated to the creators edition, but when I boot up, I can see my boot screen, but when it launches into desktop, the screen is black. I can see my mouse cursor, and when I do control alt delete, I can get into task manager. to reboot the machine. Can some help fix my black screen. I tried doing advance mode of restart and shift key at the same time, but when I go into the menus, it will not let me go back to previous version.
