Difference between white and dark theme on amoled and LCD display is way big, that's why i asked for your display type.
To be hones, amoled is great.. but i love so much white that i think on swiching to 830 just for it. Yes, i'm serious.
well i changed my mind, white can look good after all... decided to give it a shot this week and liked it so far, especially with the wallpaper i chose:
I use black when indoors and it saves on battery life, then outside I use white, yes it does eat my battery but I don't have it all the time as sunny weather here in ireland is scarce, I only use white in sunny conditions.

if you really have a L520 you don't have to worry about background color vs battery. It doesn't make a difference on LCD phones like the 520. What might use more battery outdoors is setting brightness to adjust automatically

Its generally good practice as I have my Lumia 520 two years now and the battery is as fresh as the day i bought it, its because of (in my opinion) trying to maximise and not over use the battery. But yes I do agree with you.
