Contact MS. I can't remember what the new support account is for Xbox Music, but I contact @Zunesupport on twitter when I lost my ten free Zune pass and they got me straight (via web and phone) within fifteen minutes. There should still be a support link on Zune.net.I too had the legacy 10 free song Zune pass. I bought a Surface and got the $100 Xbox music pass. When I applied it, it wouldn't accept the code. I had to cancel and downgrade to xbox music pass and lose my 10 songs and 2 devices.
You can still download the music but I don't think from the phone you can get the songs as .mp3s, they are drm'd. If you use the zune client you should be able to d/l the .mp3s but I can't confirm now. I'm switching to Nokia Music when my 12 mo pass expires.
