Can I leave my charger base plugged into the wall?

Leaving charger base plugged into wall..

I'm a newbie with Surface 2 and would like to know if I can leave the charger base plugged into the wall socket in anticipation of it next routine charge time.This would save me one step if I could do this.

Basically you can but it is never promoted to do because of safety and due to "standby" usage of electricity.
It is always more safe to unplug it if you not use it. Because if you get a malfunctions of the loader it may cause a fire. Furthermore the charge plug ( the one you attach to the surface 2) is kind of open and could create a short).
But many people leave their loaders in the wallplug because it's easy.

You can leave it plugged in the wall socket but dont leave it "turned on".

?.?????? There is no on/off switch on the charger of the Surface 2.

I think he meant the on/off switch on the plug socket which some country uses.
