Forgotten charger; Can you charge a Surface Go via USB C socket?

First gen Surface Go

Well, I've been a pillock and left my charger at home. I have my phone charger with me which is a USB C Fast Charger. Does anyone know if it will accept charge this way? I don't want to find out the hard way by damaging something.

If I remember correctly, you can. However, your phone charger will have to be at least 45 watts.

Thank you; would you believe it's 43 watts? Slow charge but seems to work.

Yep.I could charge with, what was it?, 30 W on my Go 1.And for sure 25W on my Go 3. You should be good to go.
