Can't clear message indicator (Text/SMS)

I have a TP2 from ATT and I can't seem to clear the message indicator on the bottom slider row, it shows 1 message but there are no messages. I have pulled the battery, removed the message indicator and the put it back, but it still shows 1 new message. I have deleted all messages so there aren't any there at all.

Any suggestions?

I had this problem on my BB Storm. It didn't realize there are several different messaging sources that drive the indicator. Any of the email accounts (I have several) that has an unread message will trigger it. Any unread text message will drive the indicator. The most confusing one on storm is any time you get a call and don't answer it, it will put a message in one of the email clients.

Get someone to send you an SMS message open it and see if the indicator goes away

That's one of the first things I tried but thanks for the suggestion anyway.

That thread did it. I had to do a back up with sprite, without saving the messages, and then restore and then just add back in my email. Kind of a pain but it worked!!!!!!!!!!

Well we are just glad you got it fixed. I will have to alert my friends with tilts to this issue and this thread
