Can't hear my mum when she calls from her 520

Hi I got my mum a phone for Christmas (L520) and suddenly she sounds very low when I or anyone else is talking to her , is it a software issue or shall I bring the beast back, it was grand and loud the first few days she had it

I am told that my 520 is loud and clear, so I think you may have a hardware issue.

I know it sounds silly but she hasn't turned the ear speaker volume down by mistake? If not could be a faulty ear speaker, id take it back as its a hardware fault.

Nope, you HAVE to press and hold the volume up button DURING a call, and you will hear the sound increasing.
I had the same issue the first days, but figured it out after a couple days...

i got my entire family to switch from blackberry,symbian,ios and android to switch to lumias
my grandad has a 720 which had the same issue and i could not hear him properly and it sounded like the volumes levels increased and decreased every few seconds
anyways i figured this issue out soon when nokia care centre couldnt diagnose the problem
solution-change ur sim and get a precut sim from ur carrier
a full sim trimmed down to a microsim always has issues
in my family there are many 720s,820s and 920s and all were working fine except my grandads 720 which works perfectly now

I have a sim card that was cut by a cell phone store and I am having no issues, guess I got lucky
