Considered the 640.

Is the 5" Larger than a standard Iphone Size? I want to say that is is but Im not entirely sure.. Its been a while since Ive gone down to a normal size phone. I had a Samsung S4 before going to the 1520.. Which according to a Quick Google Search is also a 5" Screen.

5" is larger than iPhone 6 and earlier size.

the current iPhone 6/6s have 4.7" displays, so a bit smaller than the S4 and 640.

The 4" 5-series is even smaller.

Issue is with the font size and whether you can scale it up. Give you an 8 inch phone is of no use when the font is fixed which is the case for WP.

So on another note Ive seen the 650 is prying its way in. Ive seen mixed rulings on 8 Gig vs 16 Gig On Board Storage. Although I ask - Is storage really an issue I mean you can save all your stuff to SD so is onboard storage really needed?

if anything the 650 seems like a downgrade from the 640 (it seems like such a weird successor to the 640)

i use a 640 as my daily phone, never had any problems due to lack of storage (as you mentioned SD card comes in handy to hold any bulky things)

you mentioned iphones. the 640 is huge compared to an older iphone. the 640 is slightly (but i found it to be noticeably) larger then the iphone 6s.

personally i find the 640 to be a really nice phone (and incredibly nice phone for the price), but as was mentioned above. since you will be coming from a flagship phone you may or may not be happy with it.

Well my "Flagship" Phone I have to use a form of Bluetooth for people to hear me on. I've got my gripes with Microsoft, The app Gap but at the same time, I have an iPad Mini (Don't throw Gauntlets at me), and a laptop, really I use my phone for quick checks on facebook, Instagram, and occasinally e-mail reading. I do use it for GPS and Calendaring. Ive been comparing it to the iPhone 6 Plus and obviously what I currenlty have and I keep telling myself if that .5 .7 inch diference that huge? Ive been watching Videos reading posts in this thread etc. Really the only thing I ahven't done is put one of these in my hand to see the responsiveness.

Im not sure why the 650 would be a downgrade it seems more like a laterral <sp> move to me like they didn't really change the name much.

I will say I wish the 640/650 had a Biometric Fingerprint reader on it or facial recognition but my 1520 dosn't have it either so Im not missing a huge amount there.

one of the things i really like about the 640 is the battery life. i can forget to charge it one night, and by the end of the 2nd day i still have over 50%. sure the 650 has more storage, and slightly slower cpu and gpu. so yeah i agree more lateral in performance. my main concern with the 650 is the smaller battery

Love mine, just bored with 8.1... Want 10 but....
A.) Want it to run well
B.) Don't want to hard reset

Well the Plot Thickens. So I went to the AT&T Store... I have to say I am impressed wit the 640. It was responsive, and kind of stunned me. For a cheaper phone Little dude performs pretty well. That being said I also got my paws on a 950 (Bad idea) - That thing is a gem. 3 Gig just in Memory.. WOAH!!! It was smooth. The only negative thing I had to say on the 640 was no camera button which meh.. Kind of sucks but it can be done without. I also noticed of the 8 Gig on board storage you only actually have about 5 Gig to play with..

Now.. Game Changer, and I know wrong forum before the mods blast me. I had the AT&T guy look up my options and I told him about my experieince with Azurion. He said they could send me out an HTC M8 for the $100 deductible. Anyone have experieicning on these? Pros? Cons?

I have heard only good things about the HTC One M8, but just not the camera. Check out this thread for samples : http://forums.windowscentral.com/htc-one-m8-windows/307720-pictures-video-taken-your-htc-one-m8.html

It's up to you though.

Ive been reading the Reviews on it since I got back from the AT&T Store. The camera gains Megapixel in the front, but drops it in the rear but it does have a second camera for stablization or something like that. IT has more Storage than the 640, but same screen size from what I see. No removeable Battery, Easy Access SD slot. Quick Charge Battery.. GRRRR This is gonna hurt :)

The camera was poor so they replaced it in the M8s with traditional camera. Not sure how it compares though.

I also discovered there are a LOT more Accessories in terms of cases for HTC as opposed to Microsoft/Lumia. Impressed that Otterbox makes a case for it.

My biggest concern would be the camera. Take a look at the pics others have taken and see if you can live with it. Most other specs are great.

Also, make sure the AT&T rep is going to arrange the Windows version and not the Android version, unless you're deciding to jump to Android. It comes in both flavors, and I'd hate for you to get an unpleasant surprise.

I am using Lumia 640 and I would easily recommend you this phone for the price. W10M insider so far works quite smoothly with my 640. The camera of this phone is mind blowing and beats any Android mid ranger. Just go for it without thinking too much.

Best Buy has the 640 for $30 today!

Argh!!!!!!!! I should have went to the 640.... Asurion sent me an HTC A9 as an insurance replacement I quickly called them and said um no this is android she tried to argue with me and say their goal is to provide a comparable device I said yes spec size I would have done the A9 but not with a droid. long story short thry are sending me an M8... Biggest drawback I've heard is the camera. which the 1520 was nice but honestly overkill for a cell phone. If you need that fine grain grab a dslr or something Imo... who knows maybe the m8 won't work and I'll end up picking up a 640... Trying to be optimistic

honestly, id make an argument for the 950 xl for a comparable device. I had the 1520.3 and the 950xl is the most comparable. I buy my phones outright though and bought the 640 for ~$50, which today you can get for $30, while I waited for the 950xl to come out. Needless to say, I still have the 640 bc of how great the phone is ESPECIALLY for its price. I thought it would be just a 'hold me over' but it has made the process of justifying paying that much for a 950 a very difficult process.

I forgot to mention im running w10m.
