honestly, id make an argument for the 950 xl for a comparable device. I had the 1520.3 and the 950xl is the most comparable. I buy my phones outright though and bought the 640 for ~$50, which today you can get for $30, while I waited for the 950xl to come out. Needless to say, I still have the 640 bc of how great the phone is ESPECIALLY for its price. I thought it would be just a 'hold me over' but it has made the process of justifying paying that much for a 950 a very difficult process.

I forgot to mention im running w10m.

Im going to see what Asurion does this time around. So far Ive not even got the notification that the device has shipped so Im a little pessamistic that Im going to get what I need on this one either. I would say the 950 (Not XL) is pretty comparable to the 1520. That device has 3 Gig of RAM in it alone which is impressive in itself. Apparently AT&T doesn't sell the XL thats a M$ only

Argh!!!!!!!! I should have went to the 640.... Asurion sent me an HTC A9 as an insurance replacement I quickly called them and said um no this is android she tried to argue with me and say their goal is to provide a comparable device I said yes spec size I would have done the A9 but not with a droid. long story short thry are sending me an M8... Biggest drawback I've heard is the camera. which the 1520 was nice but honestly overkill for a cell phone. If you need that fine grain grab a dslr or something Imo... who knows maybe the m8 won't work and I'll end up picking up a 640... Trying to be optimistic

The $30 price tag is most likely one day only. It was done a few weeks back, and lasted less than 24 hours. Walmart is also advertising for $29.88, Best Buy for $29.99, and the Microsoft Store for $29.99. At Walmart, you have to order online for in-store pickup to get the price. If you try to buy in the store, it may be the full price.

Honestly, I'd pick up the 640 as an extra backup just in case at that price. Yeah, I know budgets are tough, but if something happens, it will be easier on the budget in the long run. Just my opinion. Don't force yourself either way. It's all good.

Well the M8 came today and I have to say I'm no further today than I was 2 days ago. Thry sent a completely refurbished unit to me. The box was barely taped together the phone was in a plastic baggy. I see no wearable signs on the phone but seriously a refurbished unit. I'm tempted to send it back and just pick up a 640... This irritates me. 100.00 for a return phone . Thoughts?

Reseting my 640 GoPhone after download and install of the W10M Release Build.

Imma drive this thang for a bit and see how she handles. Got my unlock request in with ATT and I may consider debranding.

Always so much to play with on a new phone, no matter how "bargain" it is.

Well I finally got asurion to accept my returns. I felt like such a snob because she asked why I was returning the M8 I said well the bix was taped together the phone Waa in a plastic baggy and she's like well did it power on I said yes but I asked for a new phone not someone else's rejected model. she tried to push back and say that if the phone powers on then it should be accepted as a replacement. I called back got a different car and he said send them both back and he would get the return process started.

I will be picking up the 640 this week. And also canceling my asurion insurance they are worthless.

Considering the specs and what Android phones are going for at the same level, this is a steal. And for a bargain phone, it performs extremely well.

Target is selling them, don't trust their website (for electronic items like phones, lol). I have seen this phone advertised in their weekly circular a number of times, and also when I went to get a 435 on clearance. I just don't know if it's still at $40 or not.

Yeah, going to Target yourself would be your best bet. For some reason, Target doesn't really update their website for the phones they sell in store, or not very well anyway.
