Considered the 640.

Yeah, going to Target yourself would be your best bet. For some reason, Target doesn't really update their website for the phones they sell in store, or not very well anyway.

Maybe Ill have somewhere to go at lunch now :) LOL!!!

Still seeing the 640 for $29.99 on the Best Buy website. I bought one from the site and picked it up at my local store.

:sigh: Not anymore they don't :( However I do believe Walmart is still carrying them. As much as I hate Walmart. Im suprised Target isn't selling these truthfully :(

Thats the only place I found locally that has them :(

Sorry... It was there yesterday mid-day.

I went through this a few times. Sitting on the fence will kill your chance. So I jumped right on it this round. I'd say order the Best Buy and have it shipped. Saves a couple $$$ and you wait a couple days.

It's obviously not imperative you have the phone this moment or you would have done it when they were $29.88 at Wallyworld.

Lol truth... I have my 1520 but without an ear piece I'm screwed.

Did you get your case on yet?

My kids all have them, I have a 950 and an 830. Something about the feel of the 640 is very appealing to me, just feels right. I paid 59 at best buy over the summer.

Dumb question but could you use a 640 as your daily? I mean aside from the additional 2 gigs of ram and 8 gig of space they are same screen size correct?

I moved 640XL from 920. Only disadvantage is Camera. Added 32GB sd card and dont see any issue.
You can get new 640XL for $200 in ebay

My daily is a 1520. But I'm driving this ATM to test it out, try W10M and do my shakedown so it is ready to roll if I have to call it up to the majors. I'll probably put in about 2 weeks on it, write a review for this forum and then go back to 1520...

I can see myself using it daily, but not forever. I mean if you are a flagship user, then you are going to miss certain upgrades. However, it seems quite capable. On Insider Release Build it's working great for me. Mind you I did the clean setup > upgrade > hard reset path without restoring a backup anywhere along the way. I think that makes a difference.

The screen is bright (maybe the brightest screen I've had ever {?} or at least that I can recall ATM) and the sound volume is way up there: ringtone, speaker, earpiece... It rivals my previous champ, HP Veer, for sound volume and the quality may be a bit better.

It gets the job done. The things that don't stand out - like screen and sound - are proving themselves adequate to nice.

I know you didn't ask me, but thought I'd chime in as a fellow 1520 user.

Oh yeah... I don't much like 8 GB internal, but with 640 on W10M at least you can put Maps on SD card. It has a pretty good card reader (SDXC) so a quality card makes a difference.

I put a SanDisk 32 GB SDHC class 10 card in there and it has all my Apps, Maps media, etc. Seems to be no noticeable lag opening stuff.

The card tested out on the h2testw_1.4 utiltiy as:
Formatted exFAT
Test finished without errors.
Writing speed: 13.1 MByte/s
Reading speed: 35.5 MByte/s

My daily os a 1520 but the microphone is killing me. I don't trust myself to tear apart the phone. Not to mention from what I hear it Wilk happen again and again.
