Cortana needs location to work again?

Hi everyone

I installed build 10166 on my phone and noticed that location needs to be turned on to use Cortana, as was the case in WP 8.1. But I didn't see this in the previous build. Its kinda annoying that it's dependent on the location (probably for location based interests) because keeping the location on drains the battery. Has anyone else noticed this?

I have never been able to use Cortana without location. Must have been a bug in the previous build for you. :/

Cortana has always required location on.

Cortana works better with Location on, but I prefer to have the Location off for battery and other reasons. Some Apps that their policy asks for Location on work with location switched to off position. They acquire your location through other software tricks!

seems like that...hope they would just disable this in the future.
