Success. I was able to flash the ATT Dev rom and get LTE back also The Rogers rom and I also flashed 820 Claro and also 821 EU IT 3 and all worked with LTE. So thanks everyone. I was going to try 820 MovieStar but I think I like the Claro rom and will use that one for a while.

Special thanks to exiva

Hey exiva and worawson,

Thanks for coming up with this fix!

I got everything working up to the point to after I click on install on NSRT. After agreeing to the terms, and clicking on continue, it attempts to download the firmware and gives a network problem. I am on a W8.1 machine using Fiddler 4. First time using fiddler and messing around with proxies. Is there something I'm missing?

edit: Never mind. It's flashing now. I'm using Nokia Care Suite instead of Nokia Software Recovery Tool. It is not giving the error that it was before about not being the right package. Instead, it asked if I want to continue flashing with different product code. Now my fingers are crossed that I'll be back on AT&T firmware w/ Cyan and working LTE.

It doesn't appear care suite will get LTE back, but I could be wrong (Let me know) There's something odd with how NSRT flashes it seems. I think what may have happened since it was trying to download the firmware was My folder in the package was named RM-821 because that was what firmware (FR) I had on my device, if you have a RM-820 firmware (Rogers) it has to be named RM-820. Whatever the firmware on the device is existing is what the folder has to be named.

What's special about the Claro rom? I honestly don't know if this at&t developer rom is going to be kept up to date when Denim comes, so it's good that we've got options. (It seems like at&t or nokia or whoever it is is keeping this rom current, so I don't think we'll have trouble.)

I got the Dev Rom flashed on successfully. It's Cyan and AT&T, but unfortunately, it didn't bring LTE back. I had on the FR firmware on my 920 too because I was impatient for Amber. This Dev Rom doesn't seem to support Field Test mode, so I can see if what the data connection options are. I was hoping I could trick Nokia Software Recovery Tool to get the retail rom back on, but it gives me an error after it starts. I wonder if I need to take out the line about firmware product code now that it is an RM-820 again and no longer RM-821.

If it's on RM-820 now, you need to rename that folder to RM-820 from RM-821 I posted. Also, make sure there's data flowing through Fiddler. The traffic is HTTPS, so you will have to install the certificate from Fiddler. if you can't figure it out, I can open my proxy for you and send you the file you need over Skype, just send a PM. Happy to do it.

There really isn't anything special about the Claro Rom It seems to have very little bloat ware which uninstalls easy. There is no Field Test but I don't think they took at much of anything that I can see. The Big reason I like it is the Logo when booting up isn't terrible and it has E G 3G 4G H H+ LTE Symbols for Signal I also thought it made a big difference on the battery drain issue I have been fighting from day one. But now I am not so convinced I am getting random reboots and poor battery live again. Maybe I will go to Rogers Rom again and see if that seems better. I am also getting random signal loss with the Claro rom. I have flashed this phone so many times that maybe it wasn't the Claro rom that seemed to help my battery live. lol I might have gotten confused. I should be a lot better at taking notes.

Flashing with the NSRT seems to be the real fix for LTE. It must flash just a little bit different then the Care Suite. Maybe Registry settings ? I am not clear on what actually gets cleared and what seems to be untouched when flashing. It is different then Android. All the Androids I flashed it didn't really matter what was on the device even the counter for non OEM Kernels could be adjusted and cleared.

Thanks! You are awesome. LTE is working now!

I think I have the same problem that you guys had and solved. I suspect the previous owner of my phone flashed a RM-821 ROM onto a RM-820 there by killing the 4G connection and now its permanently stuck at H+ or less.

I followed your instructions and successfully flashed the 059R2L5 ROM using the NSRT tool still no LTE. Any ideas?

I even tried first flashing the 059Q6W4 and then flashing 059R2L5, but still no luck. The product code shown in NSRT is 059S0R5

Also the field test "LTE" shows Sys Mode as "Invalid"

The field test mode app won't open on a 059R2L5 rom, so I don't know if you actually are on the at&t developer, or if it flashed another rom you already had in your products folder. Look in Settings > About. Does your carrier show up as "Developer Device", and in settings > extras + info is the manufacturer name RM-820_nam_canada_246?

Sorry for the confusion. Yes you are correct I am currently on the developer ROM.
Carrier: Developer Device
Manufacturer Name: RM-820_nam_canada_246

I after I originally flashed the dev ROM and not seeing 4G, I flashed back to the Roger's ROM in order to check if there was any improvement in the Field Test App. Now I flashed back to the developer device (with no access to field test).

Will this method work to go from a French country variant ROM running DP 8.1 to the stock AT&T Cyan firmware for an AT&T device? The device is working now but I'd really like to get internet sharing back (which got broken going from 8 to DP 8.1).

It's not exactly stock at&t firmware. It's "at&t developer" firmware. I haven't found (and doubt I will) a way to get back to retail at&t firmware unfortunately.

I have no idea if at&t internet sharing works (I don't have at&t) I know on T-Mobile it still pops up the whole "add internet sharing to your plan" thing. I haven't tried any of the tricks to get it working (Keyboard and foreign sim)

Alright so... My battery life has been slightly improved since going to the ATT developer rom, I have LTE service and internet sharing works (I do have a mobile share plan on ATT).

I wonder if anyone has a pre-portico ATT rom that we could try flashing using this method. That may be a way to get back to stock ATT firmware (though why you would want that is beyond me TBH).

It will be interesting to see how quickly this ATT dev ROM gets firmware updates moving forward.

It's something I'm looking in to... but, I don't think it'll be possible, though who knows. worawson said Rogers worked and kept LTE, so that's probably what I'd choose if you were worried about updates. Though, it seems Nokia or at&t or whoever this rom is from is keeping it up to date. So I don't think Denim will be an issue.

I'm trying to flash my 920 that had the French Dev ROM on it through the Care Suite. I've opened the RM-821 package but it shows three different versions. The att Dev ROM doesn't flash, the other doesn't work either, the EU version needs to download. How did you get it flash?

I had to go into Cellular + SIM, and change the network selection a few times to something different and back to Automatic before I got LTE back.

what version is everyone using of NSRT, I haven't been able to flash any rom using the NSRT and Im wondering if my recently upgrade to 1.5.0 killed the procedure everyone is using to get LTE back on their phones.

the error that I get is that there's no software for my phone, Im currently on rogers cyan

I've configured fiddler and setup the rules but I notice that there's traffic on another page other than the www.caresuite.nokia.com, I see that there's traffic on nd2.fds-fire.nokia.com seeems like its trying to download the firmware and it doest use the one that is located on the rm-820 folder.

If you're on Rogers, rename the folder from RM-820 to RM-821. It'll pickup the firmware then. I left the folder as RM-820 since the original directions for flashing to get Amber/Black early had flashing to the European rom.

Hi All. I am having an issue with 3G/LTE on my unlocked lumia 920 and I can't find the solution. While using it with 2G I have no problems, I can make phone calls and the internet although slow, works. Whenever I decide to switch to 3G it can no longer connect to the internet nor can I make/receive phone calls.
The antena cable is new and the signal for 3G shows 2-5 bars (but sometimes it looses the signal.

Any chances that the Carlo soft would help? Any other hints?
Thanks in adance.
