"when" is also a good question
You did not read the first post. After you install a preview update, you may void any warranty from your MO and OEM. In the unlikely event you run into an issue after you apply the prerelease update, you can visit the preview program’s support forum.
Why MAY? cause once you installed it, you void your warranty, after you uninstall it AND wait until it publicly rolled out, you dont void your warranty now.
Probably asked already, but I'll ask anyway: how does it work with the Lumia updates and the Developer Preview Program again? If I enroll in the DPP, do I still keep my Lumia updates like Glance and stuff? Or will my phone run vanilla Windows Phone?

a question for people who've been doing the previous dev builds, how stable have these been? has your phone been prone to crash or has it been as though it was the final build software on the phone? just wondering before 8.1 whether it could be a shaky experience for the few months until the final build or not.
