Do i need WiFi to update to WP8.1 on 14th April

Currently I'm at my home place which is a small village having only cellular 2g network and need to travel 15km to access wifi. I was wondering can i update to wp8.1 via developer program with my 2g connection or i must have to connect to a wifi network ? Thanks for the help.

You will need 3g connection or wifi because its a big update

As of GDR3, you can update via cellular data or WiFi, but like previously stated, it will be a large update, so keep that in mind if it isn't unlimited.

Have you tried using a BSNL sim card, if you don't already have one? I think BSNL has 3G everywhere.

Thanks i can do that at least for the days i have been waiting for update to come lol.
