Do you have iPhone envy ?

guys you will be amazed from what i am saying! :straight:
in my township , all thing is opposite , my neighbourers and friends keep eyes on my phone when i use my 625. By seeing the start screen they are just surprized even walking around in my township 2-3 persons asks me to use my phone for 5 mins and take there iphone ( mostly persons have iphone 5s or 5 and some has 3gs and 4) . i give them and they are like ."oh ****! why i hadn't buy it!" and i am like "oh my ..... ! he has a 45k INR iphone and crying for my 20k INR L625!" .
yeah that's it , and i was already saying you will be amazed.

I had to do some updating to some ipads here at work. I was working on them, and they were just driving me nuts. The fact that you cannot choose to close an app when you are done, you can only press the start button to go forward to the main menu, and then you have to do the double-tap on the start button to see the window of all open applications and then swipe to close them. So inefficient, and it actually bugs me. I much prefer the ability to be able to either press Start to keep the app open or click Back to close the app.

I'll be honest. I do. There are some small things that make a world of difference on a day-to-day basis. Everyone mentions the app gap. The # of apps really isn't the issue for me. For me, I just want the apps to have the same capabilities!!!! What's the point of making an app for WP if it doesn't have the same capabilities as the other OS's?

The other problem I have is accessories. I would KILL for some of the accessories like this one solar powered charging case, but the company has no plans to make one for WP. ANY WP. I understand where they are coming from though. It comes down to a business decision over who has the biggest installed base. That's not WP.

It's little things like that.

I've found that a lot of headphones will work on Windows Phones if they are BlackBerry or Android accessories. I have Klipsch Image S4a headphones and BlackBerry headphones that work fine on Windows Phone. It's usually the accessories designed for iPhones that don't work properly on anything that isn't an iDevice.

Why do you need to close apps? The OS manages which apps are loaded and will close them automatically when it needs their resources - the same as Android and WP.

just want to point out that WP does have FM radio and can connect to WiFi before restoring from backups as of the latest update 3.

If you refer to me speaking about missing an FM transmitter, it is not the same thing as FM radio/reciever. FM Transmitter means a capability for the device to transmit radio frequencies. All cars I drive in real life (dont have one of my own, so I borrow different cars from time to time) only have an FM radio or at best a CD player, but I love to listen to my own music from the car speakers. So I set my old N8 to transmit at a certain frequency, tune the car radio to same frequency and it acts as if I was listening to a radio station and I can have my phone's playlists play from the car speakers.

The SoC in Lumia 920 for example has an FM transmitter, but at least WP doesnt support it for now :/

This is crazy. Why would you not like the phone you chose and buy and like instead another phone?
If you like the iPhone, by all means buy one. If you are ashamed to have a Lumia, you shouldn't have one.

I love my Lumia and everything about it makes me proud, the OS, how it works, the app ecosystem, updates, the looks, etc. What is, this, about having gadget shame? You guys need to turn it down a couple of notches.

I don't think I could ever be "proud" of a phone.

I understand the OS can manage apps, but if I am done with a game or an app, what does it hurt to have the option to close the app?

Actually I'm quite happy with my 620, but I envy three things :

1. Their gigantic app collection, but not just gigantic but their quality too.
2. Dev support. so we already got like about 10 or 20 (?) popular apps in iOS and Android. but the quality and update schedule is so behind those OS.
3. Immediate firmware/OS update. In less than a week, my friend's iPhone will have latest update after Apple announce it.

On paper, there should be more accessories for Windows Phone. All WP use microUSB, like all Android phones, the market leader by miles, as well as headphones that are universally compatible. iphone does just have a certain cachet about it that makes it the first platform that certain accessories or apps are built for.

I don't care for the iPhone UI or hardware but I do like their selection of high quality apps.

I'd rather be punched in the face than buy an apple product so no... I'll take a WP or Android over iCrap any day of the week.

Microsoft needs to add this to their ad campaigns. Windows Phone is more sensitive and supportive of people missing a few fingers than Apple.

I dont have envy for the Windows Phone itself. The only thing I do envy is the Apps. When I turn on the TV or listen to the radio I hear "Check out our mobile apps" and everyone has a iOS app and maybe 1 out of 25 have a Windows Phone app.

Two things:
1) Devices are available on all carriers, and at the same time.
2) More apps.

In all honesty, you hit the nail on the head. More so however, with point #1. I'm not on AT&T, I'm on T-Mobile with an international 920 (was a hell of a time to get tethering to work, which wouldn't have been the case if every Nokia / WP8 device was released on every carrier). The apps would be a bonus, but I wouldn't use all of them anyways, haha.

Do you have some evidence for that? The four finger swipe is not the only way to access the multitasking function on the ipad.
