I didn't have it for almost 10 days now.
I did not uninstall any apps... But there were a few updates... hopefully it stays this way.
Even with heavy usage (streaming music in the car and playing it via bt) my battery never drained under 40% at the end of the day.

I have to say c0br4 that you are one of the lucky ones.

Problems like this are what makes WP owners run to Apple and Google! And because Microsoft hasn't addressed this problem after all this time, it is an indication of WP probably never becoming relevant.

damnit, accidentally liked your comment when I tried to reply. Lol

Well, I was going to say, you can find issues with battery from every device on every platform. If you were to google iPhone battery drain/issues, you will find plenty of complaints. Same for Blackberry (which is generally good on battery usage) and Android.

I'm not saying this "random drain" is OK, but it happens everywhere and on other forums you'll find someone saying there switching platforms because of it. The problem is often, poorly coded apps, user error or faulty batteries/hardware. Occasionally a hard reset could resolve it as well. Really too many things could cause it. I wouldn't be so quick to blame an entire platform.

you have said it.. the OS is also a program and has to deal with different hardware and user inputs. sometimes the code will fail, as its not coded for ALL but what mostly happens.
when it comes to Android and WP the OS has a more variety of hardware Specs to deal with and that adds to Random Battery drains

Yeah, right. You can buy an Android have your battery just drain hard all of the time........

I've had it happen several times. Annoying? Yes. Deal killer, no.

Set your prioriities.

Very true. But...... on my Android phone, there were tools available to let me figure out WHAT was draining the battery. After I uninstalled / blocked the culprits, I had a stable 0.75%/hour drain.

On my Windows phone, I have no such tools and as I understand it, none are possible. So when my battery drain suddenly triples, I have no clue as to WHY.

First and foremost, my phone is a TELEPHONE that lives in my pocket. I don't always look at it every hour. When I need it to be a telephone, I don't want to find that the battery is dead unexpectedly.

I had a huge battery drainage a few days ago and noticed 1 thing: In the last few days, I had charged my 920 using a different Nokia charger from the one that comes in the box. I'm suspecting that even if it is a Nokia charger (for another Nokia device), the fact that it's not the one made for the phone specifically, the charge was probably not as complete. That's just a thought but from the day I went back to the white wall charger, the drainage stopped and I'm now back to approximately 1% per hour.

I use my phone pretty heavily over the weekend and never noticed such a drop before. I don't use my phone that much during the week and I would lose approximately 20% in 1 hour! Everything seems to be back to normal now.

I'll keep monitoring the battery drain carefully though.

Definitely see a huge difference in battery drain after Amber compares to prior. I refuse to disable double tap as I think its the best feature added so I'll sacrifice the battery a little. Still, not the same which sucks. I really hope 8.1 is more consistent with processing and such.

Exactly, when you wake up and your phone is dead and you've missed an important call, that can be a potential nightmare. And people pay too much money to have they're phone unexpectedly dead.

I bought my l625 a couple of weeks back and everything was nice. Last week though, the battery was draining pretty quickly and phone got so hot around the lense area, I had thoughts about taking it to Nokia care. But then I un-pinned "The Weather Channel",blocked it from running in the background, uninstalled a game called "Doors" and everything's fine again. Battery lasts 2 and a 1/2 days and phone has stopped getting hot.
I don't know if an app is causing this but hopefully lumia won't act up again.

Man the battery has been wacko since GDR2/Amber. I really hope GDR3 fixes this because double tap cant be killing my battery this quickly, glance is disabled.

You must sometimes restart the phone to refresh the system and prevent battery drain fast

This should'nt be a solution, i never did that on my crappy old HTC Wildfire Android.. It would go like 4, 5 months without restarting, but i was doing it cause it became slow not because it drained the battery..

Btw, almost a month now i didn't have a drain on my 520.

but not all, i have android phone sometimes i need to restart so that my wifi tethering will work. Then i uninstalled go launcher sometimes not responding. Atleast i have clean master installed to keep the phone clean. But not all phones u must to restart, only when problems occurs .refresh system saves battery.

So this just started this past week for me. I hard reset my Lumia 1020 because the live tiles quit updating. Ever since then, my battery drains soooo fast, and I only have 3 apps backgrounding. I'm going to try the Nokia charger to see if that helps. Oh, and my live tiles already quit updating again, and the only ones I use are Baconit and WPcentral.
