Download pictures and rest of email hangs

Is it normal for the L900 to have an extended delay while downloading internet pictures and the rest of an email in the email app?

There have been multiple times where my email app just sits there anywhere from 30-60 secs with a message stating "Downloading (about 35K)". After the wait, the rest of the email finally starts downloading.

I've tried 3G/LTE and on WiFi. Still the same results.

Is that normal?

I get that sometimes too. Haven't found a solution yet except for exiting the email app and relaunching it and trying again.
