Earphone buttons not working after Lumia Black update

So I have been using the apple earpods with this phone and I understand that the volume and mix don't work, but the play/pause and skip, previous worked great, but ever since the black update, the play/pause button has completely lost functionality. Updated from GDR3.

iOS buds with inline controls do not have full function on Windows Phones. The audio out funcionality was updated, unfortunately it looks like the update to compatable headsets disabled some on the iOS functions. The iOS controls are non standard to start with.
There are buds made for WP, blackberry works also. These have standard inline controls.

Well, that's a big let down, I liked the earpods because of their build quality and architecture, and especially because they didn't require ear buds, but it looks like I'll have to start using earphones like these for WP... I guess it was time to change earphones anyways heh
